Ole, Senor!

This is probably more 'training' than playing  but dogs love to keep learning --- especially when you're about to teach them a foreign language. A bi-lingual dog? It's an impressive party piece to show off to your friends and is remarkably easy to teach. It does help if you can speak a foreign language yourself but it's not essential -- you just need to learn the command words in French, German or whatever language you choose.

Presumably your dog understands the basic commands and presumably you use hand signals together with verbal commands. If not, then there are plenty of dog training schools around to help you. To teach him a foreign language, start by a session of using hand signals only without verbal commands. When he is familiar with this, continue using hand signals but now use the foreign command word at the same time. Just as your dog learned to associate the English command word with the hand signal so he will learn to associate the hand signal with the foreign command word. Once he has done this, you can then use either language with or without hand signals. Don't worry -- you will not confuse your dog if you take it step by step.
